What a great game! I just loved every minute of it. I completed the game on level 46, but I think level 50 was the maximum. Completition earned me the right to replay with the same character and to get up to level 60. It also unlocked an extra difficulty. There were some sad moments, including a situation where I had to choose between the lives of two of my starting teammates. I thought I could save them both, but in the end, Ashley died.

It turned out; the Reapers are a race of machines that live in the dark space outside the galaxy. Every time an organic civilization would get advanced enough, they would come and destroy it for some unknown reason. The ship that Saren used, the Sovereign, is actually one of the Reapers, and Saren was really under his control. The Citadel itself was a mass relay trough which the reapers would invade. This would grant them a fast way in to the galaxy, and at the same time isolate all of the Council races by disabling the relay network. Off course I had to stop it.

The Protheans actually managed to create their own mass relay which gave me a back door entrance to the Citadel. This allowed me to reach Saren before he could activate the relay to the dark space. I managed to convince him that he was under control of the Sovereign, so he took his own life. The Sovereign didn’t like this, and activated Saren’s implants, which transformed him in some sort of cyborg. While I was fighting him, the Alliance fleet managed to save the Ascension, an Asari ship on which the Council took refuge. After disposing of the Geth ships, they combined their forces and attacked the Sovereign. I defeated Saren about at the same time as the Sovereign was destroyed.

As an expression of gratitude, Humanity was granted a place in the Council as an equal to the other races. Sheppard decided to find a way to defeat the Reapers once and for all. The End!

I strongly recommend this game to everyone even if you don’t like role playing games. It’s really great in almost every aspect.

Just an hour or two invested today. We got through most of normal difficulty with our druids. Now we’re at act V and we have just killed Shenk. I also managed to find the problem with my network connection. For the past few days, every time one of us would leave the game, the other computer would drop him, which would result in the character not saving. It seems a problem was not with the network, but with my shared stash (I use Plugy). One of the items in the stash corrupted the entire file and that was what caused the drops. I gave a few of my better items to my friend and deleted the stash file. Now everything works perfect again.

Last night a friend stopped by again, and we played with our sorceress/amazon combo. We got through the first half of act 3 hell, and it was a bitch. My amazon is a non standard build and is harder to play than most characters. Also, our equipment sucks and our resistances are mostly negative. Today we will try to finish hell, so we can concentrate on getting equipment.

EDIT: We haven’t finished it, but we did get to chapter V. Chaos Sanctuary was hard as hell (duh!), bud Diablo himself was a breeze thanks to teamwork. We both started running towards him, I cast my Valkyre next to him to keep him busy, and when I came close I cast slow missiles for his red lightning, and then started attacking him. In the meanwhile, my friend came close to, and used static field a couple of times. This got him to about a third of his health, the rest of which I easily took using charged strike.

I talked to all of my teammates after the meeting in the conference room. Some of them advanced their story a little bit and some of them actually finished theirs. After talking I did a few side quests. I also somehow unlocked a bunch of cool weapons at the Normandy merchant. My characters are now level 40. I’m guessing level 50 is the maximum, but I can’t be sure.

I did a few side quests, nothing major. My character is now level 29 and is really starting to kick ass. I don’t know what the maximum level is, but I hope I don’t get there too soon. As for the main quest, I saved Liara, the daughter of Matriarch Belezia. She didn’t take the death of her mother too hard, and decided to join my crew.

Liara has another theory about the Protheans. According to her, the Protheans weren’t the first advanced civilization in the galaxy. It seems the rise and fall of major civilizations is a cyclic process. Every time a civilization gets advanced enough, something erases her from existence. The Reapers (the “something” that destroyed the Protheans) could be much more than just a machine race.

EDIT: I explored a few more planets, got a few more levels and advanced the story a bit. I repelled a Geth attack on a human colony and crashed one of their ships in the process. On the way back, I fought a giant plant that was mind controlling the colonists. Now I’m one step closer to Saren.

So I lied yesterday…

My sorceress isn’t level 40. She’s level 60 and I’ve finished Nightmare difficulty. First I trained at Shenk on normal for a while, and then continued to Baal runs. When I reached level 40 I decided to try nightmare. Using frozen orb and teleport made nightmare a breeze for the most part. Act V was the only problem because it introduced ice immune regular monsters. However, these were rare, so it wasn’t hard to avoid them. Right now frozen orb is maxed, and I’m investing points in meteor. I’ll try to make an Insight pole arm for my mercenary, so I can use another staff. Right now I’m doing nightmare Mephisto and Countess runs.

I had a terrible headache yesterday, so I didn’t even touch a game. Today tough, a friend stopped by so we created a couple of druid characters. His will be a Hunter Summoner (a summoner that uses a bow), and I decided to go for the elemental skills. We got trough act 1 and most of act 2 normal.

Right now, I’m planning to play for a bit with my sorceress. I’ll try to get her to level 27 so she can use the Insight staff I have prepared for her.

EDIT: The sorceress is level 32 now. I actually used teleport to rush to act 2 nightmare and hire a holy freeze mercenary. Now I’m doing Shenk runs on Normal to train. I decided to use fire as my secondary attack instead of lightning. I don’t think it’s a better choice, but the animations of fire skills look better to me, so the coolness factor decided for me. I’ll try to get her to level 40 tomorrow.

I followed the matriarch to Peak 15 research base. It turns out, they’ve found a Rachni egg from which a queen hatched. Off course, the Rachni overran the base. After fighting and defeating the matriarch, I got a choice weather to kill the Rachni queen and destroy their race for the second time, or release her hoping that this time they would be different. I chose the latter.

I did a few side quests, one of which led me to the Earth’s moon. It was really awesome to see the Earth rise in the sky. After finishing this quest, I got to choose my class specialization. The choice was either Commando, or Operator. Commando is more on the combat side, while Operator emphasizes Electronics and Decryption skills. I’ve chosen Commando.

I played this game most of the day. I’ve completed most of the quests at the Citadel. I haven’t completed those I find “evil”, because I prefer to play good characters. After revealing Saren to the Council, and providing evidence, I was recruited in to the ranks of Spectre. That makes me the first human Spectre ever. Before leaving the Citadel, I got command over the Normandy.

Now that I have my own ship, I’ve spent most of the time exploring planets, and solving optional quests. Right now, I’m after the woman that works for Saren. It turns out she’s actually an Asari matriarch. I also got another companion, a Quarian this time.

Early this morning (a couple of minutes after midnight) I completed about 3 or 4 more quests. This unlocked a bunch of items at the Bazaar, including some class specific robes which allowed me to learn some nice passive abilities. Mostly, I’ve been fighting the undead, with some Duelhorn quests mixed in. My main character learned all of the available Parivir skills, and is now training as a Paladin.
