So I installed this one after I completed Braid. It seemed like a fun little action-platformer with stealth elements. The enemies are funny and the game looks great in a cartoony sort of way. I played trough the tutorial, found Futo and reached a checkpoint where I decided to exit the game and take a break.

About an hour later, I try to load my game and it loads fine but the frame rate is below five and there are artifacts all over the screen. So I go online, scan trough the forums, any other related message boards, google and I find nothing. It’s like no one even plays this one on the PC. I start experimenting and discover that if I change resolution in the main menu before loading the game, everything is ok. I decide to give the game a chance even though it smells of bad port and, to be honest, I really enjoyed it until a few minutes ago. I went through all 4 bosses like a breeze, got all of my ninja friends and escaped the avalanche. Since I got all but one magic scrolls, I assume I’m extremely nearing the end of the game. So I find the passage to the next level, go through it and the game crashes. I run the game again, go to the main menu, change the resolution as usual and try to continue where I started. Guess what? Since the game forces a stupid single-slot auto-save method, the save got corrupted and now it crashes on loading. Now I’m stuck with an uncompleted game and mad as hell. I am deleting this one from the hard drive and I’m not looking back.

Since I completed Wolfenstein yesterday, I installed this game today and managed to complete it about an hour ago. It’s a nice little puzzle platformer with some excellent graphics and a great and interesting story, although I don’t think I understood the story part completely. Anyway, I don’t want to spoil anyone so I will not talk about it. I think by now pretty much anyone knows about the game so there’s no need to say much.

Remember Lost Vikings? Wasn’t it awesome? Imagine that game with more action, amazing 3D side perspective graphics, 3 person multiplayer on the same pc and a fantastic fairytale narrator. I can say with confidence, that this was one of the best games I’ve ever played in my life. It took me about ten hours to complete (at least I think so), but I plan to play it many more times. Hopefully, they will add some sort of time attack mode in the patch, or some other way of increasing replayability.

Seriously readers, if you exist, GET this game.

I stumbled upon this gem on YouTube. Today I installed and completed it in one sitting. It took me probably about 8 hours, but I did it. It’s a 2D action adventure with RPG elements. The game is similar to Castlevania on the GBA and DS, as well as Super Metroid. There are a few differences though. First of all, the game has levels. You can revisit them as much as you like, and you are encouraged to do it, as there are plenty of items you can’t get in the first run. Second, and more important, the game is beautiful. All of the backgrounds are hand drawn and in high resolution. The level of details is amazing. The characters are nicely animated and everything looks completely smooth.

In the style of Castlevania, you unlock new abilities as you progress such as dash and double jump, which in turn allow you to revisit all levels and discover paths to new ones, as well as collect some nice items. You also gain experience and levels which further improves your character. There are a couple of spells and various skills in the game, and there is an option to buy potions that increase your stats, so if you like to grind you will feel right at home. I might try grinding later, but right now, I just tried to collect as much items as possible and complete the game. It gets hard at times, but it never became frustrating for me. Most of the times, I died because I got impatient. Anyway, If you like nice 2D games, this is probably one of the best you can get on the PC right now.

Anyway, look at the trailer and see for yourself.

I’ve completed all of the 39 episodes and this unlocked five more. Now I have to finish these. I already finished one of them. Apart from the last level, the episode was quite easy. I’m hoping I’ll finish the rest of them today.

EDIT: I’ve completed the rest of the episodes, and now the game is officially finished (I got the credits). I’ve also unlocked everything in the unlockables list including the golden ninja. This is a great and challenging platformer that I recommend to everyone.

I’ve managed to finish all but two episodes. The two that remain each contain a really tough level that I can’t seem to complete. One requires wall jumping off movable platforms surrounded by mines, and the other is a long section with many simple parts that combine in a near impossible whole. It’s not completely impossible, but it takes skill and practice.

I got this one yesterday. It’s every bit as great as the flash version. I’ve finished a total of 34 out of 39 episodes, each containing five levels. I think the game is a bit easier on the DS. I’m guessing this one will be completed soon.

I woke up early this morning for some reason, so I’ve been playing Mario some more. I managed to clear World 7 and find all the hidden passages in World 8. All I need to do now is get all the star coins from World 8. Easier said than done.

EDIT: Notice the subtle change in the completed games list. That’s right, boys and girls, World 8 is now cleared of star coins, and New Super Mario Brothers is 100% complete. Now, how should I celebrate this? I know! I’ll play another game!

EDIT2: I solved a few more Final Fantasy quests. The story didn’t advance, but I completed a side quest group. My main character is 2 skills away from becoming a ninja, which he will continue to be, until the Parivir job is available. I don’t really know what to do with my Moogle. He learned all the Thief and Juggler skills, so he doesn’t really have anything to do right now. I will keep him as a Juggler tough, because I think the class has superior stat growth compared to the Thief.
