I got this for my sister’s husband who is really new to gaming in general, and role playing games especially. This is why he asked me to also start playing it so I can help him if he runs into trouble. I have to say, I did not regret installing it. It’s basically the closest thing to Baldur’s Gate since Baldur’s Gate.  I started with an elven mage. He did the Harrowing, which is something like a final exam for mages, got recruited to the Grey Wardens and managed to almost die in a battle. Basically, this means I got trough the intro of the game, and now the real thing started. I have to go to a few different nations and force them to honor a contract in which they all promised to help out when the Blight comes again. My party is filling up pretty fast. You can lead 4 characters at a time, but I already have 6 in total.

The game itself is loads of fun. It’s not as hardcore as Baldur’s Gate, but there is lots of strategy involved, unless you play at the easiest difficulty level. The quests almost always have multiple ways to complete them, and the lore is rich and interesting. My guess is Bioware is trying to turn this into a franchise, so we can expect plenty of sequels. The more, the merrier, I say!

Not much train riding lately, so not much DS gameplay either. I managed to rescue the princess but then she got beamed out of Bowser’s body by Fawfull. That’s basically all that happened. It did take a while for me to save the princess though. I had to answer allot of quiz questions correctly and kill a boss in the end. This means Mario and Luigi gained a few levels, and their rank has risen to, so they can both carry 3 different equipment pieces now.

After completing Modern Warfare, I decided to install this gem. Basically, it’s an FPS Diablo game with lots of great humor and beautiful cartoonish graphics. You run around doing missions, getting new weapons and running people over with your vehicle. During all that, you gather experience, find new weapons and train your skills.

The plot looks simple for now. There’s this planet that supposedly holds a legendary vault full of treasure and artifacts. No one is sure of it, but people flock to the planet to find it. It’s different for you though. You have this girl in your head that knows the vault is real and is guiding you to it.

Anyway, I did some tutorial missions in Firestone, killed some local bandit leaders like Nine-toes, Sledge and some other guy, blew up a pipeline, cleared some crap off a windmill, killed and ran over a bunch of skags, including Moe and Marley, cleared all the other missions and then traveled to the second area called “The Dahl Headlands” I think. My character is level 20, but since most of the game felt like a tutorial up to now, I’m guessing the ending is not near. Anyway, I’m loving the game, so I plan to play allot more. I mean like, right now!

I had lots of traveling to do during exams, so I was stuck in a train for 3 hours a day for the past 2 weeks. I had nothing else to do, so I decided to start a new DS game. I don’t think I got very far, but for now, I like it. It’s a Super Mario RPG style game that makes use of the DS capabilities. I’m at the point where Bowser got really fat, so Mario and Luigi used the opportunity to look for the princess inside his fatty areas. I needed to answer a few questions about Bowser correctly in order to continue, but the game froze on my, so I decided to stop there. I will probably be playing this one when I don’t have access to my computer for some reason so I won’t complete it any time soon, but I definitely plan to keep playing it.

Since now I suddenly have lots of time on my hands, I managed to clear the Orc and the Night Elf campaign in one day. Again, it feels easier than the first time I played it, but at that time I was still new to RTS games, as my only gaming experience at that time were consoles. Anyway, since the original was done, it was time for the expansion.

Again, this one was completed pretty quickly. I decided not to do the bonus campaign as it really doesn’t say anything about the story.  Other than that, there’s not really much to say about Warcraft 3. It’s a Blizzard game, so it’s great. At this point, I think it’s pretty safe to say that about any Blizzard game. I can’t wait for WoW to continue the story in Cataclysm.

This one was installed Saturday afternoon and completed on the same evening. My DSL was dead the entire day so I didn’t have anything else to do. There is only one word to describe this game, the same word I used for the first one – EPIC! Epic story, epic gameplay, epic graphics, epic music, just EPIC! The only thing that isn’t epic is the duration, but in my opinion that is a good thing. Instead of making the game longer with more repetitive gameplay, this way, every second of the game is fun and exciting. It makes it feel more like watching a great movie than playing a game. Anyway, can’t wait for the next one! Big recommendation!

I managed to complete the Scourge Campaign and I have started the Orc campaign. Also, I am trying to do all the campaigns in exact order I decided to play the bonus campaign of The Frozen Throne before starting the Orc campaign of Reign of Chaos. Currently, I’m doing the mission where the Orcs kill Cenarius. I did not try it yet, but I don’t think it will be hard, since the entire game seems much easier than the first time I played it.

I don’t think I will be playing this one to completion. I had to take a brake right after my last post due to exams, so I haven’t played it at all. Long story short, it’s hard to continue after such a long break. I might start a new game at one point and try to complete that one, but for now, it’s on hold.
