I’ll be honest. I’ve kind off been cheating lately, playing several different games but not really sticking through the end of any of them. Sure, The Darkest Dungeon is early access so I guess it’s OK I’m not going through that one all the way, but i started the Witcher 2 months ago and left it about half-way through. I also have a game of Crusader Kings II running, with a draft for a posting only half-written. This one, I really wanted to give an honest try, though. It’s Might and Magic, after all.

Final Fantasy XIII – Mixed Feelings
Final Fantasy is one of the few defining game franchises for me as a gamer. As a kid, I didn’t look far past the usual platformers, fighting or racing games, but at one point after getting the PlayStation, I got talked into buying Final Fantasy VII. Since then, I’ve played through most of the series and enjoyed each and every game I tried. This is a single post instead of a series, but I have now completed Final Fantasy XIII as well. Did I enjoy it? Sort of, maybe, but I’m not really sure.Continue reading
Sproggiwood – A Juicy Roguelike
The purists might jump on the title like a pack of hyenas, so I’ll put a disclaimer right here and now – some might not consider Sproggiwood a roguelike. I do, but some might not. Most will consider it a fun game to play, though.I know I do, so I’ll do my usual “what is this game about” thing. I was going to do it earlier, before the game was released, but I couldn’t find the time, so let’s do it now that it’s out.Continue reading
Sid Meier’s Alien Crossfire – Great, Not Perfect
Over the course of a couple of days, I’ve finally played through a complete match/game/campaign/whatever of Sid Meier’s Alien Crossfire, the expansion to Alpha Centauri. It’s truly an amazing game and I’ve held this opinion since the moment I first played it. It’s not perfect, though.
Might and Magic: World of Xeen [1] – Let’s Start The Game
Might and Magic: World of Xeen is the worlds of Might and Magic IV and V combined. I’ve completed it in record time for a Might and Magic game (at least for me), so now I want to write about it. I write a lot of deep stuff that feels smart for me right now, but will end up cringe worthy at some point in the future, but no one really cares about that. Instead, I’ll explain how the game works and then run you through the very first quest with the default party. I will also be updating and possibly adding some pages to the blog.
Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra [3] – Looking back
There was a marathon during the past week and a half, so Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra is now officially on the completed list. I intend to make a set of quick and easy guides providing information I couldn’t find online when I was playing the game, but for now, I thought I’d make a sort of “looking back” report. It’s a big and lengthy game, so my impressions have changed, several times during my playing of it.
Might and Magic III: Isles of Terra [2] – Let’s Play Through a Dungeon
Isles of Terra is taking longer than I thought, in part due to distraction, but mostly due to my unwillingness to commit to it for some reason. Most of my sessions are large chunks of time, so I keep delaying and eventually end up procrastinating on Reddit instead of playing. It’s a ridiculous thing to say, because I’m avoiding playing a game instead of avoiding some actual work, but there it is. Anyways, here’s me playing through a dungeon – the Slithercult Stronghold.Continue reading
Batman: Arkham Asylum AKA Why I’m Full of It.
Lately, there’s a tone in most of my postings. My tastes are moving away from story focused games into what I sometimes accidentally call “actual games”, even though every single game I’ve played is an “actual” game. Basically, I’m sort of being an ass about things, again. Recently, I started playing Batman: Arkham Asylum, and it’s getting a bit difficult to use the same brush I’ve been using lately. You know, the wide one.Continue reading
Dungeon Keeper [1] – The First and Proper One
I’ll be honest. A minor part of why I started playing Dungeon Keeper is because I’ve been thinking about doing it for a while. A major part, though, is because a mobile sequel was released and there’s a lot of controversy around it. I get what the controversy is about and where it’s coming from, but I’ve been trying to stay positive lately, so instead of saying why I hate a game I probably won’t ever play, I thought I’d play the first Dungeon Keeper and talk about why I love it. First, however, I have a confession to make.Continue reading
Might and Magic III – Isles of Terra [1] – Overview
It’s been a while, but I’m keeping up with my plans, albeit at a very slow pace. I’ve beaten Might and Magic Book One and Book Two, so now I’m moving on, to Might and Magic III – Isles of Terra. With this one, instead of making up stories, I’ll give an overview of what I’m up to and what the game is about.Continue reading
